There are many safe and durable flooring options for high-traffic businesses, and we can help you choose the right one for you. We even can do the design and install for your renovation.
Here are some flooring suggestions for a high-traffic business…
1. Ceramic tile
Ceramic tile is slightly more economical than porcelain tile, and ceramic is easier to cut and install. Tile looks really classy and is very easy to clean.
The downside to tile is that because it’s so hard, that also means that it offers less traction that some other types of flooring and could be slippery when wet. The grout may also need to be cleaned on a regular basis to keep it looking new.
2. Carpet
Believe it or not, carpeting can be a great solution to a high-traffic area, especially if it’s made with those new Antron fibers.
Carpet provides good traction and is great for acoustics because it dampens sound. But before choosing carpet, you need to examine what type of traffic you have on your floors. Carpet is great for foot traffic, but it’s less than ideal for traffic that includes equipment or dollies or heavy luggage carts.
3. Linoleum
Linoleum is a great eco-friendly solution. It’s not expensive, it’s easy to clean, and it comes in a variety of colors. It’s also available as either a sheet flooring or tile flooring.
Because it’s made from linseed oil, linoleum is a renewable resource that doesn’t off-gas a lot of nasty chemicals. Linoleum has made a big comeback and is very trendy these days.
4. Vinyl
Vinyl flooring or luxury vinyl tile (LVT) would work great in a high-traffic area. It’s extremely durable and easy to clean and one of the most economic flooring choices. It’s possible to choose a pattern that looks just like stone or other natural materials.
5. Concrete
Polished concrete can be beautiful. It’s easy to clean and repair, and it’s very cost-effective.
Concrete can be stamped or finished with all kinds of patterns and colors. It’s a hard floor, so you may want some extra mats to add some traction. Concrete is also very trendy right now and it can give a sleek industrial look to a commercial space.
